Sensex dips 43 points; IT, Realty drop




Goldennifty said: Indian markets pared earlier gains to negative in noon trade on Friday. IT, realty and banking stock tips declined, while consumer durables and metal stocks gained.  

Sensex was trading down 43.31 points or 0.24% at 17,787.44 with 22 components falling. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty was intraday trading tips lower by 21.65 points or 0.40% at 5,390.70 with 34 components falling.
BSE Sensex opened flat with a decline of 13.16 points or 0.07% at 17,817.59, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 12.55 points or 0.23%, at 5,399.80.

Sensex Movers

Infosys contributed fall of 20.77 in the Sensex. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (14.39 points), Reliance Industries (12.38), Sterlite Industries (India) (4.7) and Tata Consultancy Services (4.53). 

However, Tata Steel contributed rise of 14.39 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (5.68 points), Tata Motors (4.37), Larsen & Toubro (3.75 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.53) ,Tata Steel (3.75%), Bharti Airtel (0.91%), Tata Motors (0.84%), Bajaj Auto (0.83%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.43%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.40%). 

On the other hand, Sterlite Industries (India) (2.08%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.98%), Hindalco Industries (1.57%), Infosys Technologies (1.26%), I C I C I Bank (1.13%), and G A I L (India) (0.98%) were the major losers in the Sensex.

Rising Stock Market in India - The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) could intervene in the foreign exchange market to arrest the appreciation of rupee which affects exporters and raises macro economic challenges. According to a finance ministry official, RBI may step in if the rupee strengthens above 43 a dollar.
    The rupee has climbed 3.5% in the past month as foreign fund flows into Indian stocks reached a record $23 billion this year. Countries from Japan to Brazil have sold their currencies to keep exports competitive..
